According to Odaily, James Fickel has incurred substantial losses amounting to approximately 22,500 ETH, valued at $55 million, due to his trading activities involving Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). From January 10 to July 1, Fickel borrowed 3,061 Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) worth $172 million from Aave and exchanged them for 56,445 ETH at a rate of 0.05424.
Since August 7, Fickel has spent $12 million USDC to purchase 211 WBTC and exchanged 47,476 ETH for 1,888 WBTC at a rate of 0.04, valued at $113.5 million, to repay his Aave debt. Currently, he holds a debt of 980 WBTC, equivalent to $132 million, on Aave. Overall, Fickel's trading activities have resulted in a total loss of around 22,500 ETH, valued at $55 million.
