Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson recently discussed Bitcoin and BitcoinOS (BOS), a smart contract operating system designed for Bitcoin that aims to provide advanced features and seamless interoperability. In a recent partnership announcement, Cardano and BOS teamed up to integrate the Grail bridge to establish a connection between Cardano DeFi and Bitcoin's $1.3 trillion liquidity.
BOS said that this collaboration provides Cardano users and developers with secure, trustless access to Bitcoin assets, enhances cross-chain compatibility and enhances Cardano's DeFi potential. Hoskinson talked about BOS and Hydra in a recent interview and explored the possibility of BOS and Cardano being used in conjunction with the Hydra L2 solution.
Hydra improves Cardano's transaction efficiency and reduces latency by processing processes off-chain, supporting parallel transactions through "Hydra Heads" or state channels, allowing for faster interactions. During the discussion, Hoskinson mentioned that developers successfully ran the classic video game "Doom" on Hydra, and smart contracts verified changes in the game's state.
This means that every action taken by the player - whether walking, shooting or looking around - is recorded as a transaction through a smart contract call on the Hydra L2 chain. Hoskinson then said: "Next we will try to get the Nintendo emulator running on Hydra." (Bitcoin.com)
