The Cryptocurrency Innovation Council (CCI) plans to work with one of its members, the Proof of Stake Alliance (POSA), to further delve into the issue of staking. The CCI said the staking market value has grown from $19 million in 2019 to more than $500 billion. U.S. lawmakers have been working on legislation to tax staking, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has also filed charges against several companies for staking schemes, including Kraken, Consensys, and Coinbase. POSA's work will be led by Mangiero, who will work with other members such as Ava Labs, Andreessen Horowitz, and Paradigm. Next year, POSA plans to release new policy documents and continue to work with policymakers and regulators to clarify concepts such as re-staking. CCI also said it plans to work with Global Digital Finance, a nonprofit focused on digital assets, to continue existing joint work on key issues, including staking; jointly participate in selected key policy documents and consultation responses to regulators and policymakers, etc.
