Arcium, the Solana on-chain confidential computing project, has acquired Inpher, one of its Web2 competitors. As part of the deal, Arcium will take over Inpher's core team and technology, and specific terms have not been disclosed.
Arcium was originally a Solana privacy protocol called Elusiv, and later changed its name to a general confidential computing startup.
According to Crunchbase data, Inpher has raised a total of $14 million since 2016, with supporters including JPMorgan Chase and Amazon Alexa Fund, and recently began to position itself as a service for privately and securely interacting with artificial intelligence.
Earlier in May, Arcium announced the completion of a $5.5 million strategic round of financing, led by Greenfield Capital, and participated in by Coinbase, Heartcore Capital, Longhash VC, L2 Iterative Ventures, Stake Facilities, Smape Capital and Everstake, as well as Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko and Monad co-founder Keone Han and other angel investors. As of now, its total financing has reached $9 million.
