The pace of slowing inflation in the United States appears to have lost steam, which could raise questions about how aggressively the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates early next year. The market expects the U.S. CPI index to rise 0.2% month-on-month in October, with some Wall Street forecasting a 0.3% increase, which would match the biggest gain in the past six months. Meanwhile, year-on-year growth is likely to rise from 2.4% to 2.6%, marking the first increase in eight months. However, even if October's CPI inflation data is strong, Wall Street still expects the Fed to cut interest rates again at its last meeting of the year in December.
