Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, said that artificial intelligence could reach "human-level performance" as early as 2026.
"We are starting to reach PhD levels, last year we were at undergraduate level, and the year before that we were at high school level," he said in an interview, predicting that AI could surpass human capabilities in the next few years.
He added that several things could hinder these advances, such as data exhaustion, cluster expansion limitations, or geopolitical conflicts affecting microchip production. However, "if you believe in the straight-line extrapolation of the current rate of progress, we will get there in 2026 or 2027," although there may be some "slight delays" compared to this.
