Riot Platforms Completes $525 Million Senior Notes Issuance and Currently Holds Over 12,000 BTC

According to documents filed with the U.S. SEC on December 11, Bitcoin mining company Riot Platforms has completed the issuance of $525 million worth of senior notes. The notes will mature in 2030, have an interest rate of 0.75%, and are sold only to qualified institutional buyers through private placement. They include terms for conversion into Riot common stock starting in 2029, with the possibility of early conversion under certain conditions. Riot said it plans to use the net proceeds from the offering to purchase additional Bitcoin and for general corporate purposes. Riot recently spent $68.45 million to increase its holdings by 705 BTC, and currently holds more than 12,000 BTC, worth approximately $1.2 billion. This makes Riot the second largest BTC holder among listed mining companies, second only to MARA, which currently holds more than 40,000 BTC. (CryptoSlate)
