OpenSea Foundation spokesperson responds to coin issuance rumors: More information will be announced soon

The biggest speculation about the OpenSea token airdrop in recent times comes from the recent filing of an "OpenSea Foundation" in the Cayman Islands. Crypto organizations often create a foundation as a separate entity from their more established, consumer-facing brands, and historically, these foundations then become the organizational body for communicating and facilitating token airdrops. While registering a foundation does not guarantee that tokens will follow, other organizations that have recently offered airdropped tokens to users have done so through their respective foundations. A spokesperson for OpenSea said the foundation is indeed a registered entity, but did not comment further on any association with OpenSea. This association became clearer when an account using the OpenSea Foundation name, X, posted "ocean entered the chat," possibly hinting at the upcoming OCEAN token. The account was created in May 2024 and follows only one account on the platform - OpenSea. OpenSea and its CEO Devin Finzer both interacted with the post through their respective accounts.
