According to The Block, the U.S. District Court signed a protective order on the Bitfinex theft case and the $4.5 billion encrypted money laundering case, stating that the case will involve confidential national security information, and its storage, processing, and control require special security precautions according to laws or regulations measures, and access to this information requires security clearance. Designating Daniella Medel as the classified information security officer in the case and naming several alternate officials who can provide security arrangements, the order warned that unauthorized use or disclosure of classified information could violate criminal law.
