Coinbase CLO: Without a final court ruling, Tornado Cash may be sanctioned again in the future

Odaily Planet Daily News Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal criticized the U.S. Treasury Department for trying to circumvent the legal ruling on Tornado Cash by removing Tornado Cash from its global blacklist. He warned that without a final judgment from the court, there is no guarantee that Tornado Cash will not be sanctioned again in the future. It is reported that the U.S. Treasury Department blacklisted Tornado Cash in 2022 because of its suspected involvement in money laundering of $445 million stolen by the Lazarus cybercrime group, but the appeals court ruled that blacklisting certain smart contracts was unconstitutional.
