▌Coinbase Ethereum L2 "Base" Releases 2023 Decentralization Roadmap
Coinbase Ethereum L2 "Base" released the 2023 decentralization roadmap, including: 1. Start at least one failure prover for OP Stack, use a set of validators to identify and resolve failures, and then protect Base and Optimism masters; 2. Realize the decentralized upgrade of Base and Optimism mainnet smart contracts, and it is expected to launch a security committee in which the decentralized quorum is not controlled by any single entity. 3. Start the initial version of Superchain, which can sort the transactions of Base, Optimism mainnet and any OP Stack Rollup, ensuring anyone’s right to participate in the Base ecosystem. Base said that it will advance Base and Optimism mainnet to Stage 2 rollups in 2024, making Base's degree of decentralization and security comparable to that of Ethereum. In addition, Base stated that it will not use other tokens, but will continue to use ETH as the native gas token.
