World of Women (WoW) has entered a partnership with WS Game Company, the parent organisation of the iconic Monopoly board game, to introduce a special edition, "MONOPOLY: World of Women (WoW) Galaxy Edition."
Scheduled for a grand launch on 17 October at noon ET (12am in Singapore), this rendition of the beloved classic merges tradition with innovation, infusing it with a web3 twist.
It is worth noting that the game is accessible to all, and you do not need to be a WoW token holder to partake in the excitement.
However, there are incentives and rewards reserved for WoW token holders.

The design of the game celebrates the vibrant Web3 community of WoW, featuring custom illustrations of its beloved characters and incorporating elements from various NFT collections.
This unique Monopoly variant offers players an opportunity to explore a novel digital economy while venturing through the enchanting WoW Universe.

The game introduces cutting-edge elements, including a currency representation through Ethereum and golden-hued tokens that pay homage to esteemed Web3 communities like Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), VeeFriends, CryptoPunks, CloneX, and Cool Cats.
With NFT-engraved golden tokens adding an extra layer of intrigue, the primary objective is to educate the next generation about Web3 and digital currencies through engaging gameplay.
WoW COO Shannon Snow elaborated on the gameplay:
“The whole game takes place in the future, and the wild Galaxy has become this beacon of hope in the cosmos. So it's all set in each player. Each token has to embark on this galactic journey to build allyship across all of these different planets. It's powered by ETH, which is the fuel. So every time you pass 'Go,' you get ETH, and that's access to your fuel to continue exploring the galaxy.”
For a limited time, tangible versions of the board game will be available, with delivery orders dispatched within the initial eight weeks.
On the other hand, the online version's central hub is WoW's platform called 'Patio,' offering additional benefits for active participants beyond issuing ETH.
Shannon added:
“So, actually, the special benefit that will be given will be given to those that log into the Patio. So, they will log into our community hub in order to receive that benefit. We want Patio to be the go-to place for all things happening with WoW, whether it’s special events like the WoW gala or special content.”
The creative vision for the board game was crafted under the guidance of World of Women's co-founder and Chief Creative Officer, Yam Karkai.
As the launch date draws near, it will be fascinating to witness how this innovative blend of tradition and cutting-edge technology shapes the gaming landscape.
