Just yesterday (July 3), a shocking kidnapping occurred in Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong. A 3-year-old boy was taken away with a towel covering his mouth in the Tseung Kwan O Plaza shopping mall. Afterwards, the kidnapper extorted 660,000 USDT from the child's parents.
According to pictures captured by CCTV in the mall, a child can be seen being taken away by a man wearing a light-colored shirt and a duck-billed hat, covering his mouth with a handkerchief.
The kidnappers abducted the 3-year-old child in front of a snack grocery store on the second floor of the shopping mall.

The last picture is a screenshot of the Telegram conversation after the child's parents contacted the kidnapper and left their account. The kidnapper pointed out, "I want money and you want someone to go to a virtual currency store to buy 660,000 USDT" and asked to transfer the virtual currency to an address. It even threatened that "if USDT is not present, it will not be online again." Cryptocurrency crime offline trend grows
With the liberalization of Hong Kong's cryptocurrency policy, Hong Kong residents are paying more and more attention to cryptocurrency. Most people will inevitably have evil thoughts when they see the huge value of the market.
This will make offline cryptocurrency crimes that do not require technical thresholds easier, and cryptocurrency can be obtained through traditional crimes.
Not just in Hong Kong, the number of cryptocurrency offline crimes is increasing around the world. A federal jury in North Carolina recently convicted a violent cryptocurrency theft ring for targeting cryptocurrency owners through violent home invasions.
The diversification of cryptocurrency crime methods deserves greater attention.
