Block’s Bitkey Bitcoin Wallet Now Available Worldwide

Block, led by Jack Dorsey, has initiated the global distribution of its new self-custody Bitcoin wallet, Bitkey. The wallet, designed with a distinctive hexagonal shape and grayscale marble pattern, aims to enable users to directly control their Bitcoin holdings without relying on third-party exchanges.

Bitkey, previously available for pre-order at $150, is now being distributed worldwide. It offers a secure and user-friendly experience, with its app downloadable from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The app provides a suite of tools to enhance the safety and convenience of managing Bitcoin.

A key feature of Bitkey is its recovery system, which emphasizes user security. Through features like Trusted Contacts, users can regain access to their funds even if they lose their phone and Bitkey hardware.

Furthermore, Bitkey offers Emergency Access, ensuring that customers can access their funds even if the app or team becomes unavailable. By prioritizing self-custody and refining the wallet based on customer feedback, Block aims to give users more control over their financial lives through Bitcoin.

The Bitkey Bitcoin wallet is now available in 95 countries. Block has also partnered with Cash App and Coinbase, allowing Bitkey users to seamlessly transfer and buy Bitcoin directly within the app, leveraging the trusted infrastructure of these services.
