The 2024 U.S. presidential election is set for November next year. The stances of several presidential candidates on cryptocurrency issues have garnered significant attention.
In August this year, the U.S.-based cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase announced the establishment of a non-profit organization called "Stand With Crypto," vowing to defend the interests of the cryptocurrency industry. Recently, they even planned to gather presidential candidates to discuss blockchain technology and digital asset policies.
Pre-Election Discussions
According to Cointelegraph's report, the invited candidates include former U.S. President Donald Trump, independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who supports the cryptocurrency community, and Republican candidates Doug Burgum, Nikki Haley, Ron DeSantis, and Chris Christie.
Stand With Crypto said,
"This special opportunity allows you to hear from each presidential candidate and will provide candidates with a venue to address the crypto and blockchain community in New Hampshire."
"The topics will not be limited to crypto-specific issues. Instead, this forum is designed to enable candidates to address the crypto and blockchain community on a range of policies in advance of the New Hampshire Primary."
On January 23rd next year, New Hampshire will hold its presidential primary. Incumbent President Joe Biden is expected to be the Democratic candidate seeking re-election; however, Biden hasn't been "confirmed" or listed as an "invited" attendee on the event's official website. Meanwhile, Trump has yet to participate in any Republican primary debates.
Public Opinion Survey
Polls indicate that Trump is highly likely to represent the Republican Party in the 2024 presidential election, challenging Biden. His current party support stands at 58.3%, significantly surpassing main internal competitors like Ron DeSantis (13%), Nikki Haley (10.4%), Vivek Ramaswamy (5.3%), and others.
