根据最新消息，美国伊利诺伊州的一家联邦法院已下令加密货币对冲基金Jafia LLC及其老板Sam Ikkurty支付8400万美元。
此次判决案件是美国商品期货交易委员会（CFTC）在2022年对俄勒冈州波特兰市的 Sam Ikkurty、伊利诺伊州奥罗拉的 Ravishankar Avadhanam 和 Ikkurty 在佛罗里达州拥有的一家公司 Jafia LLC，提出的欺诈指控。
法官玛丽·罗兰（Mary Rowland）在裁决中表示，Sam Ikkurty对他的公司Jafia的加密货币对冲基金业务做出了各种虚假陈述，包括关于他在加密货币交易方面的经验。
Sam Ikkurty、Ravishankar Avadhanam 和 Jafia LLC欺诈性地索取至少 4400 万美元用于投资数字资产的所谓收入基金的参与权益。
起诉书称，被告利用网站和YouTube视频“向至少170名参与者索取超过4400万美元，用于购买、持有和交易数字资产、商品、衍生品、掉期和商品期货合约。同时被告还指控被告经营非法商品池，并且未注册为商品池运营商。
据称，被告人没有通过质押或管理良好的交易来投资资金以产生被动收入，而是简单地以类似于庞氏骗局的方式将资金重新分配给其他用户。被告还将数百万美元转移到一个离岸实体，而该实体又可能已将资金转移到外国加密货币交易所”，总额为1800万美元。
此外，起诉书指控被告拥有和经营的三只基金，即Rose City Income Fund、Rose City Income Fund II LP （Rose City）和Seneca Ventures LLC，作为拥有他们没有合法权益的资金的救济被告。
2022 年 5 月 11 日，美国地方法院法官玛丽·罗兰 （Mary Rowland） 阁下签署了一项单方面法定限制令，冻结了被告控制的资产、保存记录并任命了一名临时接管人。
