DIN Secures Another $4M, Brings Total Funding to $8M

DIN, the first modular AI-native data pre-processing layer, announced on 20 August that is has successfully concluded a $4 million pre-listing round, elevating its total funding to $8 million.

This round attracted new investors such as Manta Network, Moonbeam Network, Ankr, Maxx Capital, and several community and key opinion leader (KOL) investors.

Capitalising on this momentum, DIN launched the Chipper Node Sale on 13 August, marking a significant step in its mission to transform the decentralised AI data economy.

Last July, DIN raised $4 million in a seed round led by Binance Labs, with additional backing from HashKey Capital, NGC Ventures, Shima Capital, IVC, LIF, Big Brain Holdings, and Archerman Capital.

DIN expressed:

Following a successful fundraising round, DIN is now expanding its ecosystem with the Chipper Node sale, offering early access and encouraging global participation in the AI data economy.

In July, DIN outlined its future plans on X, including updates like the xData New Version, Node Sale, Node Mining, Airdrop Claim, and Token Event Generation (TGE), signalling a commitment to continuous innovation and growth.

What're Chipper Nodes?

Data is the lifeblood of AI development, yet it is often controlled by tech giants in both Web2 and Web3.

DIN aims to democratise AI data processing by involving everyone, ensuring that data ownership remains with the users and rewarding them for their contributions.

Within the DIN ecosystem, Data Collectors, Validators, and Vectorisers collaborate to manage AI data.

Collectors gather and label raw data, which is then processed by Validators and Vectorisers to ensure quality and usability, thereby maintaining a steady supply of high-quality data for AI model training and trading.

xData, launched in early April 2024 on opBNB, serves as the AI data node infrastructure on DIN and attracts users who collect and label raw data for AI, earning rewards in the process.

Currently, xData boasts over three million total users and over 500,000 daily active users on opBNB and Mantle.

As the volume of collected data grows, the need for advanced processing becomes evident, highlighting the importance of the Chipper Node launch.

DIN's Chipper Nodes are pivotal in the ecosystem, facilitating efficient data validation and vectorisation for AI models.

They harness edge computing for rapid, localised processing and support multilingual text analysis using small language models trained with fastText.

Chipper Nodes also provide the necessary computational power to convert rewards earned through xData into airdrop points, forming the basis for DIN token distribution.

This creates a sustainable, incentivised environment that fosters ongoing participation and contribution.

DIN's nodes are organised into 10 tiers, with a total of 131,600 nodes available.

Starting 13 August, Tier 1 Chipper Nodes were made available for free claim by active users and community contributors.

From 20 August, users globally can purchase nodes to join the DIN ecosystem and contribute to AI data pre-processing.

Owning and operating a DIN Chipper Node offers significant benefits, including early access to rewards, a substantial share of DIN tokens, and exclusive airdrop opportunities.
