On May 31, 2024, the Ethereum Classic (ETC) network has successfully completed the production reduction ("Fifthening"), and the block reward has been reduced from 2.56ETC to 2.048ETC.
This halving occurs in a block with a height of 20000001, which is packaged by K1Pool; the last block before the halving is packaged by F2Pool.
Currently, the computing power of the entire ETC network is about 180T, which has continued to increase steadily by about 50% in the past year. The continuous and steady increase in computing power not only shows more recognition and investment in the ETC network, but also significantly enhances the network's ability to resist attacks, making the entire network more reliable and secure.
As supply decreases, ETC's scarcity will further increase. Looking to the future, we look forward to more developers and users joining the ETC ecosystem to jointly promote the development and innovation of decentralized applications. Our goal is to build a more secure, decentralized and sustainable global computer so that more users can enjoy the fruits of the development of blockchain technology.
