Israel Utilizes AI for Airstrike Targets, Doubling Potential Sites

Tel Aviv, Israel - In response to the recent Hamas attack on Israel, the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) introduced its AI-driven targeting system named "The Gospels." Operational since the surprise attack on October 7, the system processes real-time intelligence to propose targets, subsequently reviewed by human analysts.

Enhancing Accessibility and Precision

The IDF aims to enhance intelligence accessibility and promptly engage targets with the aid of artificial intelligence across brigade and division echelons. The system, supporting various intelligence units including Israeli Air Force Intelligence and Naval Intelligence, strives to ensure precise attacks on Hamas-affiliated infrastructure while minimizing harm to non-involved civilians.

"We are unwavering in defining the enemy, targeting Hamas operatives wherever they hide," stated an IDF spokesperson.

Controversial Applications

Despite the IDF's assertion of minimizing civilian harm, reports from The Guardian suggest the system has been employed to recommend targeting private homes of individuals suspected of being Hamas or Islamic Jihad operatives. The IDF reportedly maintains a database of over 30,000 suspected militants.

Unprecedented Target Identification

The IDF claims that the AI-powered system has identified 15,000 potential targets in Gaza and thousands of suspected terrorist targets since the conflict with Hamas began. This number potentially doubles the targets hit during the 2014 conflict, which ranged between 5,000 and 6,000.
