Millions Generated as Ubisoft's 'Champions Tactics' Ethereum NFTs Shine Following Free Mint

Ubisoft's highly anticipated battle game, Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, experienced a swift sell-out of its complimentary Warlords NFTs. According to CryptoSlam data, the game generated over $2 million in sales just a few hours after its public release.
The pixelated profile picture-style Warlords, which were offered in a limited presale for specific fans, were completely minted out in less than 20 minutes. This happened during the free public mint of the collection, which took place at 4pm ET on Monday.
At the time of writing, the NFTs are being traded on secondary marketplaces such as OpenSea for approximately $600 each, equivalent to about 0.27 ETH. Currently, only 7% of the total 9,999 NFTs are listed for sale. This statistic indicates that most collectors intend to hold onto their Warlords NFTs so they can utilize them to unlock the next free mint for in-game characters within the game.
Although the Warlords NFTs were free to mint, buyers had to bear the Ethereum gas fees for their transactions. These fees can vary greatly, ranging from tens to hundreds of dollars, depending on the level of network traffic at the time. Champions Tactics will utilize the Oasys blockchain for its other crypto integrations, offering players a gas-free gaming experience. This means that players will not have to worry about paying Ethereum gas fees while engaging in the game.
For gamers who missed out on minting the Warlords NFTs and do not wish to spend $600 in Ethereum to play the game, there are still alternative options available. According to the game's website, Ubisoft plans to offer a free Champions figure drop at a later date. However, further details regarding this drop have not been disclosed yet.
