The U.S.-based paint company Sherwin-Williams files Metaverse and NFT-related trademark applications. The trademark was filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on March 9, 2023.
According to the filing, Sherwin-Williams plans to launch downloadable virtual goods, digital assets, etc, relating to paints and paint color chips authenticated by NFTs or a blockchain. The company intends to provide membership club services through NFTs.
Sherwin-Williams also aims to debut online retail store services where there will be an online marketplace for virtual goods, digital collectibles, and crypto-collectibles, featuring paints, paint color chips, digital overlays, VR gaming, trading cards, etc authenticated by NFTs.
