Shiba Inu developer Kaal Dhairya shared insights into a recent technical challenge encountered by the newly introduced self-custodial authentication system integrated within The Shib Magazine.
It is a publication designed to provide the community with comprehensive updates, encompassing Shibarium, Shib products, services, and exclusive interviews with prominent figures within the cryptocurrency industry.
Launch of Shib Name Service (SNS)
In a recent stride, Shiba Inu developers launched Shib Name Service (SNS) on their layer-2 network, Shibarium, with the aim of introducing Shibdentity — a self-custodial identity system designed to bolster decentralisation within the SHIB ecosystem.
Shibdentity empowers users to regain control over their digital identities, thereby enhancing security, user experience, and eliminating potential censorship.
This significant step was underscored in a 31 October announcement, heralding SNS as an addition that brings human-readable addresses to the ecosystem.
SNS enables users to autonomously manage their Shibarium addresses, facilitating the quick and unique transfer of tokens without intermediary involvement.
Rocky Launch of SHIB Self-Authentication System
Meanwhile, the SHIB self-authentication system, Shibdentity, unveiled on 1 November, faced a series of technical challenges, the cause of which remains undisclosed.
Overwhelming traffic on the system is speculated as the likely culprit.
Kaal assured the community that the development team is actively working towards resolving these issues and restoring normal operations.
Additionally, users were informed of a temporary unavailability of the website's login feature, for which apologies were extended.
Lucie, a Shiba Ecosystem Official/ShibariumTech — Marketing as listed on X (formerly known as Twitter),provided assurance to community members, characterising these technical hiccups as minor and pledging regular updates on the platform's progress.
The overarching objective of The Shib Magazine is to deliver comprehensive updates to the community, covering Shiba Inu's products and services, with a special focus on the Shibarium layer-2 network.
Furthermore, the magazine promises to keep the community informed about the latest interviews with prominent figures in the cryptocurrency industry, ensuring members stay abreast of developments within the ecosystem and the broader crypto landscape.
Once fully operational, the magazine will play a pivotal role in providing timely updates on trending tokens and upcoming features within Shibarium.
As a token of appreciation, it has been reported that the first 1,000 readers will receive a complimentary NFT of the magazine cover, sponsored by the SHIB Doggy DAO Foundation.
The SHIB is Back Up
At the time of writing, it seems the SHIB magazine is back in action according to its blog post.
