Spot BTC ETF attracts huge amounts of money! Rothschild and US Bancorp invest a total of $20 million

US Bancorp disclosed over $15 million worth of spot BTC ETF investments on May 8.

The company revealed that it purchased approximately 87,744 shares of Fidelity’s FBTC, valued at $5.4 million; 46,011 shares of Grayscale’s GBTC, valued at $2.9 million; and 178,567 shares of BlackRock’s IBIT, valued at $7.2 million.

US Bancorp’s investments totaled $71.8 billion, according to its latest 13F filing.

US Bancorp is one of the largest bank holding companies in the United States, with more than $663 billion in assets under management by the end of 2023.

On May 9, Edmond De Rothschild Holding SA separately disclosed over $4.2 million worth of spot BTC ETF investments.

The firm bought 103,600 shares of BlackRock’s IBIT, valued at about $4.2 million, and 1,300 shares of GBTC, valued at $82,121.

The firm’s investment totaled $6 billion, according to its latest 13F filing.

Several other firms have disclosed investments in spot BTC ETFs in recent weeks.

Hightower Advisors, SouthState Bank, Susquehanna International Group, BNP Paribas, Burkett Financial Services, and Legacy Wealth Asset Management have all bought the ETF.

Meanwhile, MassMutual reported continued investment in Grayscale’s BTC Trust (GBTC), having invested 227 shares on May 9, valued at $14,340.

The latest disclosure covers purchases through the first quarter of 2024. The deadline for filing quarterly 13F filings is May 15, and other companies may disclose investments in the coming days.

BlackRock and Bitwise executives believe institutional investors will continue to buy spot BTC ETFs.

As of May 9, spot BTC ETFs had a combined AUM of $52.7 billion, with cumulative inflows of nearly $11.8 billion as of May 8.
