Ubisoft's Unique Approach to NFT Distribution for Champions Tactics Game
Ubisoft, a renowned game developer, disclosed plans on the 17th to introduce NFTs (non-fungible tokens) through Ethereum's chain for their upcoming Web3 game, "Champions Tactics." The company also unveiled a scheme to provide select users with these NFTs for free.
To engage users, Ubisoft will randomly select 50 followers from those who engage with their posts on the platform, ensuring clear communication channels while cautioning against phishing links.
These NFTs are offered without charge, requiring only Ethereum network gas fees for NFT creation, offering accessibility without additional costs.
"Champions Tactics" introduces a player vs. player tactical RPG gaming experience, involving assembling mythical champions for strategic battles. Notably, the game will operate on Oasys, a gaming-centric blockchain from Japan, set for a release in the first half of 2024.
Warlord NFT Features and Benefits
The distributed NFT, named "Warlords PFP," showcases a series of Warlord faces doubling as profile pictures (PFPs). Holders of this NFT gain early access to mint in-game character "Champion" NFTs, with a potential to obtain up to five of these characters for free.
Each Warlord NFT boasts over 170 unique attributes, encompassing diverse armor, weaponry, and headgear, with certain attributes marked as rarer than others.
A total of 9,999 Warlord NFTs will be generated, with 8,000 available for minting, 1,000 allocated to the Oasys community, and 999 reserved by Ubisoft for future promotional activities.
Ubisoft's Role in Web3 and NFT
Ubisoft, recognised globally for popular games like Assassin's Creed and Rainbow Six, has recently taken proactive steps towards Web3 and NFT integration.
Acting as a validator, Ubisoft contributes to various chains including Tezos (XTZ), Hedera Hashgraph (HBAR), Oasys (OAS), and Cronos.
Moreover, the company teamed up with Reddit in May, unveiling NFT avatars of primary characters from the well-received game Rabbits Party.
