Just a few days ago, users reported that Google had removed the price charts for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies from its search results.
Investors were left scratching their heads as to why, given that the feature has been there since 2018.
Price charts of Bitcoin and Ethereum restored
But today, Google just restored the live price charts after removing them for a brief period of time.
The restoration comes amid outrage from the crypto community after Google removed the price charts of Bitcoin,Ethereum and other popular cryptocurrencies from search results and shifted them to Google Finance website.
Users can now type queries like "Bitcoin price" or "Ethereum price" to see up-to-date charts.
Previously, only stock and index graphs remained visible in the search results, while cryptocurrency price graphs were missing. Users were also questioning whether this change was something permanent, or was it just a technical glitch.
Till date, Google hasn't provided an official explanation for its sudden changes, which has led to a lot of speculation among the cryptocurrency community.

Some fans have called this move an attack on decentralisation. One user on X said that the removal was a desperate attack on bitcoin.
Others have also questioned why Google only removed the price charts for Ethereum, Solana and Bitcoin, while other cryptocurrencies like XRP and Doge are unaffected?
Bitcoin search volumes hit yearly lows
In the week of October 12, 2024, global search interest for "Bitcoin" on Google dropped to its lowest level of the year, scoring just 33 out of 100.
Ryan Lee, lead analyst at Bitget Research, highlighted that the last time Bitcoin’s search interest was this low was between late January and early February 2024. Following that dip, Bitcoin's price surged from $41,000 to nearly $71,500 within six weeks, marking a significant rally.
Lee also emphasized that the "market stagnation" observed between May and September 2023 presented a prime opportunity for accumulating positions ahead of a major price breakout.
