Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Input Output Global (IOG) behind Cardano, has addressed recent criticism from investor Raoul Pal. Pal, who leads Real Vision, dismissed Cardano (ADA) and Ripple (XRP) as outdated, labelling them as remnants of past market cycles.
Pal’s Criticism of ADA and XRP
Raoul Pal has claimed that ADA and XRP represent "old cults" in the cryptocurrency space. He suggested that these coins belong to a bygone era and warned investors against betting on them for future gains. Pal described XRP enthusiasts as part of a “cult” where only the leaders benefit financially, implying that average investors are unlikely to see returns.
Hoskinson’s Reaction and Comments
In response, Hoskinson took to Twitter to challenge Pal’s views. He tagged Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse in a tweet, jokingly inviting him to “Secret Cult meetings,” and expressed his confusion over Pal’s critique. Hoskinson has previously suggested that Pal’s comments might be misplaced and not reflective of the current value or potential of ADA and XRP.
Elon Musk’s Affection for Dogecoin
In a related discussion, Hoskinson recently speculated about Elon Musk’s interest in Dogecoin. He remarked on Musk’s “bizarre” fascination with the cryptocurrency, suggesting that Musk might own a significant portion of Dogecoin’s supply—potentially as much as 20%. Alternatively, Hoskinson speculated that Musk’s interest might simply be due to the Dogecoin mascot.
