Ai Uehara's New Bilibili Presence
Japanese former AV actress Ai Uehara recently joined the Chinese streaming platform Bilibili. On 26 July, she uploaded her first video titled “Shock! Uehara TV – Tokyo University Economic Collapse?!!”. In the video description, Uehara welcomed her new audience, stating:
"Hello everyone, I’m Ai Uehara! I’ve decided to join Bilibili. I hope to share my life and stories here, growing and interacting with everyone. Looking forward to your attention and support!"
In the days following her debut, Uehara uploaded six additional videos. In these, she interacts with viewers in Chinese, a language she admits is difficult for her. Despite her struggles with pronunciation, Uehara remains committed to improving her language skills.
A discussion emerged on PTT, a Taiwanese online forum, concerning a Bilibili user’s comment under one of Uehara’s videos. The user posted an image of a 525 GB collection of her content and asked if Uehara had received payment for it. Uehara responded with a question: "Did you pay for it?"
This sparked further discussion on PTT, with some users arguing that showing a hard drive isn't enough to prove payment. Others pointed out the difficulty of purchasing genuine content due to regional restrictions, mentioning issues with platforms like FANZA.
NFTs and Regional Access Issues
Despite regional restrictions making it challenging for Taiwanese fans to purchase official content, Uehara’s supporters have alternative ways to support her. They can attend adult exhibitions or buy her NFTs.
In March 2021, Uehara launched NFTs on the Rarible platform, including three unique items: “Splash,” “Mosaic,” and “Love.” Each NFT features a message about her belief in Bitcoin’s future and her wish for luck to the buyers. The highest sales prices for these NFTs were 2 ETH for “Mosaic,” 9 ETH for “Splash,” and 20 ETH for “Love.” Since 2021, these NFTs have not seen further transactions.
In May, Uehara released a second NFT series titled “Not Fungible Girlfriend (NFG),” and in December, she introduced “AI MOSAIC TOKEN (AIT),” a fragmented NFT.
