During an interview with Rachel Maddow on MSNBC, Former U.S Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton shared her raw and unfiltered thoughts on the upcoming U.S Election and the danger of foreign interference that could rigged the election just like what happened back in 2016.
When asked whether the U.S government is taking foreign attempts to spread propaganda "seriously enough", Clinton suggested a heavy punishment on Americans who were found guilty of spreading misinformation, regardless if the action was done intentionally or unintentionally.
This question was a reference to the indictment of the two RT employees who covertly funded right-leaning commentators.
Clinton believes that only through severe punishment would it deter other bad actors from having similar ideas. This question was made in reference to the indictment of two RT employees who covertly funded right-leaning commentators.
Cutting off all foreign interference
And it's not just Russia who is interfering with the U.S election. On Friday, a hawkish think tank revealed that a network of pro-Iranian sites have been circulating disinformation around the election. That comes on the heels of the intelligence community linking Iran to a hacking of the Trump campaign.
To protect the santity and fairness of the upcoming election, former first lady Clinton suggest calling for the exposure of all connections to foreign interference, stating, “We are not going to let adversaries — whether it is Russia, China, Iran or anybody else — basically try to influence Americans.”
In the case of RT, the Russian state media spent $10 million to disseminate pro-Russia propaganda across social media in the U.S., paying political commentators up to $400,000 to create content. Those commentators, according to the indictment, were unaware that their paychecks were coming from Russia.
Clinton says that RT was preying on both witting and unwitting Americans to do their dirty work for them, and rewarding them with a hefty amount of rewards in return.
Thoughts on Donald Trump
Given the rivalry and feud between Clinton and Trump, it was no surprise that Clinton had nothing good to say about Trump when she was asked about former President Trump.
During the interview, Clinton called former President Donald Trump a "danger to our country and the world," and expressed optimism that voters would reject his "demagoguery" and vote against him on the day of the election.
She claims that Trump and his associates are using "Project 2025" to fulfill his ambition of being a dictator. But during the Presidential election debate a week ago, Trump denied having anything to do with Project 2025.
Needless to say, we know who Clinton will be voting for this coming election.
Clinton's new book
Clinton just released her new memoir, titled "Something lost, Something gained."
Unlike her four previous memoirs, this time she will be showing a softer, more approachable figure than the one familiar from the campaign trail or the situation room.
