MetaMask Partners With Space ID To Make Crypto Transfer As Easy As Sending an Email

MetaMask has partnered with Space ID is lauching its SPACEID web4 Domain snap - an integration with MetaMask that will make transactions on all EVM-compatible chains as easy as sending a Telegram message.

This industry-leading integration will allow SPACE ID users to replace all their public wallet addresses with a single, secure and customizable handle when making transactions on Metamask.

Instead of dealing with the traditional 42-character address, where a single error could result in the loss of funds, Space ID users can now send crypto using an easy-to-remember username.

Space ID, a web3 domain and identity platform, offers users a unified interface for managing digital assets across multiple blockchains. Binance Labs backed Space ID’s seed funding round in 2022.

Christian Montoya, MetaMask’s Product Lead, highlighted that this integration enhances the ease and security of sending and receiving crypto on any EVM-compatible chain. Earlier this year, MetaMask’s developer, ConsenSys, bolstered its wallet security by acquiring Wallet Guard, a crypto security app.

Space ID also emphasized that users can now manage and store their handles for multiple blockchains within a single wallet, providing an even more streamlined experience. The Space ID Handle can fully replace clunky crypto addresses for sending and receiving crypto, ensuring secure and verifiable transactions.

According to the team, SPACE ID snaps solves two of the most pressing issues in the Web3 space today: a cumbersome user experience and a lack of security. With crypto losses due to hacks already close to $2 billion since January. Snaps eliminates the risk of mistakes and reduces the chances of falling victim to mirroring scams to a minimum.
