Ted Sarandoes will join the stream of business leaders to visit Donald Trump at his home in Mar-a-Lago resort.
According to sources, the co-CEO of Netflix will visit the President-elect on Tuesday, although no further details of the meeting were immediately available.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, visited Trump at Mar-a-Lago in late November, and Sundar PIchair of Google and Tim Cook of Apple followed suit last week. Amazon's Jeff Bezos is expected to visit this week as well.
The Trump Administration ready to shake up the tech industry
Just like all the other tech leaders, Sarandoes was originally a democrat supporter, with him previously making donations to support President Joe Biden, Former President Barack Obama and Democratic Presidential nominee Hilary Clinton.
Since Trump's election win in November, several business leaders have sought to build a positive relationship with him.
This could be partly due to how Trump has revealed several plans that might very well shake up the entirety of the tech industry. For example, the incoming Trump administration had threatened to crack down on big tech platforms, particularly over perceived censorship of conservative speech.
Tech hardware manufacturers also have much to fear from Trump's threat to impose a 60% tariff on Chinese goods, and 10% on all imports.
For this reason, many tech companies has been so ready to jump ship, despite their long term support for the democratic party. Just last week, Meta, OpenAI and Amazon all pledged to contribute $1 million apiece to Trump's inauguration despite not donating to Trump back in 2017.
During Trump post-election media conference, Trump also commented on this weird phenomenon, saying
"The first term, everybody was fighting me. In this term, everyone wants to be my friend. I don't know my personality changed or something."
