Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback of the Green Bay Packers football team, said he will receive a portion of his National Football League salary in bitcoin.
In a video posted to his Twitter account on Nov. 1, Aaron Rodgers dressed up as the fictional character John Wick (possibly for Halloween) said he would partner with Cash App to exchange Bitcoin (BTC) form to withdraw a portion of your salary. The NFL reported in July that Rodgers would receive a base salary of $1.1 million, plus a $14.5 million signing bonus and a $6.8 million roster bonus starting in March, for a total of about $22.3 million.
I believe in Bitcoin & the future is bright. That's why I partnered with Cash App to take part of my salary in Bitcoin today.
To make Bitcoin more accessible to my fans, I am also giving away a total of $1 million in Bitcoin now.

According to data from Cointelegraph Markets Pro, Rodgers’ total salary is worth approximately 368.84 BTC, based on Bitcoin’s price of $60,636 at the time of publication. Although Bitcoin reached an all-time high around $67,000 on October 20, it fell below $60,000 more than once last week, mainly fluctuating between $60,000 and $63,000.
Rodgers joins other professional sports players in embracing cryptocurrencies as the space appears to become more mainstream. Last week, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady said he would compensate fans who held his 600th career touchdown football with 1 bitcoin and some signed sports memorabilia.
