AO releases latest token model, 100% fair launch.

AO, an Arweave-based hyperparallel computing network, has released its new token model, which has attracted widespread attention.

According to the announcement on AO's official Twitter, AO will have its own independent token - $AO. The new token model proposes a new distribution and issuance method. The following are the main contents of this release:

1. Fair launch: $AO will be issued in a 100% fair launch, which means there will be no special treatment such as pre-mining, pre-sale or priority acquisition.

2. Token minting: All $AO tokens will be minted in three ways - bridging with AO, holding $AR tokens or participating in network construction.

3. Issuance mechanism: The total amount of $AO is 21 million, and it will be halved every four years.

4. Non-profit organization management: A new non-profit organization will be responsible for the issuance and management of $AO according to the above mechanism.

5. Startup time: The genesis block is scheduled for 11:00 Eastern Time on June 13th, 2018.

However, the official also made it clear that users in the United States and sanctioned regions will not be able to mint $AO through the bridge network.

From the release method, it can be seen that the official hopes to ensure that the token can be launched 100% fairly. It is worth noting that cross-chain to AO is one of the ways to mint tokens. Currently, AOX (aox.xyz) is the only cross-chain bridge in the AO ecosystem.

Tribute to Bitcoin

The $AO token model adopts the same total amount of 21 million and halving mechanism every four years as Bitcoin. These design elements not only ensure the scarcity and fairness of the tokens, but also pay tribute to Bitcoin, demonstrating the recognition of the concepts of decentralization and fair distribution.

Whether AO and its new token model can gain market recognition over time remains to be seen.
