On June 12th, according to an exclusive report from The Wall Street Journal, Elon Musk was revealed to have engaged in intimate relationships with multiple employees at his rocket company SpaceX. The report detailed incidents where Musk allegedly had sexual relations with a SpaceX employee and a former intern. More surprisingly, one woman claimed that Musk repeatedly asked her to have his child. When she refused, Musk criticized her job performance and denied her a raise.
The Wall Street Journal interviewed over 48 people for the article, including friends and family of these women, former employees of SpaceX, and referenced text messages, emails, and other documents.
In 2021, five former SpaceX employees reportedly described a "culture of harassment" at the company. Additionally, a previous report mentioned a flight attendant on Musk's private jet alleging he offered to buy her a horse in exchange for a sexual massage.
The report also mentioned a woman who had an inappropriate relationship with Musk and was also involved with Gwynne Shotwell, SpaceX's president. Shotwell reportedly became enraged and informed SpaceX's HR department that she wanted the woman removed from the CEO's office.
Regarding the report, Shotwell stated it "painted a completely misleading narrative," while Musk has not responded.
Currently, Musk and SpaceX face lawsuits from eight former employees, accusing them of harassment and retaliation.
Last month, there was also a scandal involving Nicole Shanahan, the ex-wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin, who allegedly had an extramarital affair with Elon Musk.
The New York Times, citing three sources familiar with the matter, reported that Nicole Shanahan later informed Sergey Brin that she had a sexual relationship with Elon Musk. She also shared these details with friends, family, and advisors.
Brin and Shanahan finalized their divorce swiftly in 2022, with Shanahan receiving over $1 billion in assets.
The revelations surrounding sexual scandals and misconduct within SpaceX under Musk's leadership have surfaced from multiple testimonies and reports. These include allegations of sexual harassment, abuse of power, and potential retaliation. These disclosures have not only shocked many but have also raised widespread questions about the company's culture and ethical standards at the leadership level.
