Fantom Foundation: More than $60 million in stablecoins in Multichain wallets have been frozen

The Fantom Foundation tweeted, “We are deeply disappointed by the latest news from Multichain. This is a difficult situation for everyone affected. In response to this news, our team immediately began contacting stablecoin issuers, Namely Circle (USDC), Tether (USDT) and TrueUSD (TUSD) to freeze the assets in the Multichain wallet. We have verified that approximately over $60 million in USDC and over $2 million in USDT have been frozen. We are continuing our efforts to Identify any other affected assets. We are actively engaging with various contacts and sources to gain a full understanding of the Multichain incident. We have formed a group of current Multichain employees to better understand their perspective Learn more about the situation and provide support within our capacity. In the coming weeks, we will further announce various activities on Opera Chain to help the community and builders move forward.”
