WalletConnect releases decentralized roadmap: plans to launch permission-free open network in 2025

Web3 communication protocol WalletConnect has released a new decentralized roadmap, which will eventually be officially launched as a license-free open network in 2025. The roadmap will be divided into four stages: 1. Phase 1 (current): Initiate closed network test preparations, expand the infrastructure to multiple repeaters, and prepare for the launch of the license-free WalletConnect network; 2. The second phase (first quarter of 2024): Start the closed network and complete testing to implement the permission registry method to allow multiple parties to read and write to the database; 3. Phase 3 (Q3 2024): Launch the open network and complete testing, use selected third-party relays to establish a peer-to-peer framework, achieve progressive network access, and test participant incentives; 4. The fourth phase (end of 2025): Officially launched as a permission-free open network, the WalletConnect network will transition to a fully decentralized state and be collectively operated by a community of infrastructure providers.
