Former Employee Arrested For $1.9 Million Cyber Attack On Pump.Fun

According to Odaily, a former employee of pump.fun, identified as Jarett Dunn, has been arrested and charged in the UK for allegedly carrying out a cyber attack that resulted in a $1.9 million loss for the company. Dunn, who used the username 'STACCoverflow', claimed responsibility for the attack on May 16. He is said to have exploited his 'privileged position' to gain access to withdrawal permissions, thereby disrupting the system. In a series of posts on another account on May 18, Dunn claimed that he was detained overnight because the pump.fun team accused him of stealing $2 million and conspiring to steal an additional $80 million. He added that he was released on bail and is currently undergoing mental health treatment. Previously, pump.fun had stated that the attack was carried out by a former employee who illegally obtained withdrawal permissions using his privileged position in the company. The individual then carried out a flash loan attack using the lending protocol, stealing approximately 12,300 SOL, equivalent to about $1.9 million.
