According to The Block, Gensler, chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), will speak at a briefing for Democratic members ahead of a hearing by the House Financial Services Committee. Gensler said he will receive bipartisan questions about whether the SEC can do more to protect Investor questions. Senior staff at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) have also briefed the financial services committee's bipartisan staff, according to a calendar obtained by The Block and confirmed by Democratic aides. Democrats on the House Financial Services Committee are currently holding a series of closed-door briefings with financial regulators in preparation for hearings on FTX next week.
