We don’t yet live in a world dominated by artificial intelligence agents, so every game or base Behind every facility there is a super brain builder (or many).
Today, we’ll take a look at eight people who are helping to push the full-chain gaming space forward and who are worth watching in 2024.
Let's get started!
Note: This is a subjective list!
These are just my choices, the Builders are not listed in any particular order, and there are many other great Builders in this space , but I didn't have the opportunity to include it in this article.
Tax Cuts
< img src="https://img.jinse.cn/7179014_image3.png">
Tax Cuts is a popular online Game One: Co-Founder of Primodium.
Primodium is an on-chain MMO and factory simulator inspired by Factorio and built using MUD.
Your goal in the game is to build a galactic empire by accumulating resources and engaging in PVP battles with other players.
Tax Cuts and the team will release a new update v0.1 sometime in the next few weeks and work towards a mainnet release (exact date to be determined) .
v0.1 and mainnet launch are not only very exciting for Primates (fans of Primodium), but should help bring new players into the game realm, simultaneously bringing an explosion of interesting mods and extensions.
Sebasiten Guillemot
Sebasiten Guillemot is the co-founder of Paima Studios.
Paima is building a framework for developing on-chain games across L2 and testing its technology with its flagship game Tarochi.
Tarochi is a Pokemon-like on-chain RPG where you battle and collect NFT monsters.
The game recently minted the Genesis Trainer NFT (a 10K NFT collectible that lets you speed up your game progress and get limited edition mints), for the first time. Preparing for the release of Season 1, which will be released on February 15th and includes mobile support.
I expect that Tarochi will gain a lot of traction in the coming months, and if that is the case, this will attract more teams to use Paima Engine. Build.
Small Brain
Small Brain is the founder of Small Brain Games.
Small Brain is a series of on-chain game development companies that aims to release a new game on the mainnet every six weeks. It has developed various types of Games, including Words3 (a PVP word-making game), Network States (a PVP strategy game), Drawtech (a financial drawing game), etc.
These games have something in common in that they are easy to play, have unique mechanics, and often give you the chance to win (or lose) ETH.
Small Brain has teased that he's working on a new game, and I'm excited to see what else he creates in 2024 and beyond.
Amitt Mahajan
Amitt Mahajan is one of the co-founders of Farmville and now Proof Founder of Play.
Proof of Play is the studio behind Pirate Nation, a role-playing game in which you explore, fight, and craft NFT items.
Proof of Play is also developing infrastructure, including its own on-chain game engine, and raised $33 million in 2023 led by a16z and Greenoaks Seed round financing.
The team recently announced a PvP mode for holders of Founder's Pirates, the game's flagship NFT series, where they will be able to Stake PGLD and compete against other players at sea.
PVP sounds interesting, so I expect Pirate Nation will see more of this as this new feature (and others) rolls out to the wider public. This will continue to evolve over the coming months.
Kooshaza and Kooshaba
So far, we have introduced a single Builder, but now we The series connection of Builders will be introduced.
Kooshaza and Kooshaba are brothers who built Sky Strife in Lattice.
Sky Strife is an RTS game where you compete in turn-based PVP matches with the goal of capturing the player's base while protecting your base from attacks .
Sky Strife is built using MUD and is currently in the middle of Season 0.2, its third on the Redstone Holesky testnet since November 2023 Continuous play testing.
Not only is the game fun, but it also showcases the capabilities of Lattice infrastructure.
So I will be involved and closely following what Kooshaza and Kooshaba are building as they prepare for Sky Strife’s upcoming mainnet launch.
Scott Sunarto
Scott Sunarto is the founder and CEO of Argus Labs.
Argus is the team behind World Engine, a sharded Rollup SDK that enables developers to create their own horizontally scalable L2 and target managed chains The game has been optimized.
They also develop games using their own stack and have an in-house research lab.
In 2023, Argus received $10 million in Series A funding led by Haun Ventures and launched "Dark Frontier", a "Dark Forest" ” is an independent remake and the first game built using World Engine.
I'm very interested to see how Scott and Argus compete with the likes of MUDs, Dojo, Paima, and Curio in the Engine Wars for game traction.
Komorebi
Komorebi is the founder of AW House, a multi-pronged Organizations under the umbrella of Hacker House organize hacker houses around the world, provide funding and conduct research.
Komorebi also has a studio, Baratie, which launched RedSwap, the first DEX on Redstone, and recently re-released 1337, a game , you can try landing the number 1337 on Farcaster as Frame.
Komorebi Hacker House is scheduled to be held at ETH Denver from February 28th to March 4th, which should be a good source of alpha for emerging on-chain games .
I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out and what else he creates with Baratie!
Watch these Builders
Whether they are building games , infrastructure, or both, each of the eight Builders on this list manages projects that drive the on-chain gaming ecosystem forward.
They (and other talented Builders in the field) are worth following so you can keep an eye on what they're cooking.
When on-chain gaming reaches escape velocity, many of the games on this list will likely receive the same attention as the OG DeFi founders.
We don’t know which on-chain games will become the “Uniswap, Aave, Synthetix and Maker” of this space.
But we are convinced that with these eight Builders at the helm, the future of full-chain games is bright.
