Trump to release fourth NFT series: People want me to release another one

According to an extensive interview with former President Donald Trump published in Bloomberg Businessweek on Tuesday, he plans to release a fourth NFT series.

In the interview, Trump said that his previous series was "very successful" and sold out in one day: "The whole series sold out: 45,000 cards. I've done it three times, and I'm going to do it again because people want me to do it again. The spirit is incredible. It's beautiful."

Trump previously revealed the idea of ​​releasing a fourth NFT series at a party for his NFT holders at Mar-a-Lago in May, but did not commit to it at the time, saying: "I believe in supply and demand. As you know, one does well, two does well, three does well. At some point, things may get better."

But as the crypto industry continues to support Trump's re-election campaign, the former president seems to be increasingly open to NFTs and cryptocurrencies. In May, Trump’s campaign began accepting cryptocurrency donations. A report from The Wall Street Journal on Tuesday, citing the latest data from the Federal Election Commission (FEC), found that of the approximately $331 million raised by the Trump campaign last quarter, about $3 million was in crypto.

Yesterday, Trump announced pro-Bitcoin Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) as his running mate.

Major players in the cryptocurrency industry, including Kraken co-founder Jesse Powell and Gemini co-founders Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, have donated significant sums to Trump’s reelection campaign and related super PACs, including the new Trump-centric USA PAC and the pro-crypto Fairshake.

“It’s not going away. It’s amazing,” Trump said of cryptocurrencies in an interview with Bloomberg Businessweek, adding that he “met a lot of people in the crypto industry” at fundraisers, calling them “top people.”

Trump, once an outspoken skeptic of cryptocurrencies, told Bloomberg Businessweek he has moved to embrace the industry because “if we don’t, China will take over and take it over — or somebody else, but most likely China. China is very interested in it.”

“We have a good foundation,” Trump said of the U.S. cryptocurrency industry. “It’s a baby. It’s in its infancy. But I don’t want another country to take over.”
