US Homeland Security Blocks Over 500 Ransomware Attacks Since 2021

According to PANews, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's cybercrime division has successfully thwarted more than 500 ransomware attacks since 2021 and seized billions of dollars in cryptocurrency. The Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) unit is currently implementing measures to prevent hacking incidents before they occur. Between October 2023 and September 30 of this year, HSI managed to stop 150 ransomware schemes. Since the inception of this initiative in 2021, a total of 537 intrusion attempts have been prevented. Additionally, HSI has confiscated $4.3 billion worth of cryptocurrency since 2021.
