Hoskinson Reaffirms Disdain for XRP Community
In a recent statement, Charles Hoskinson, the founder of the Cardano blockchain platform, reaffirmed his negative stance towards the XRP community. Hoskinson, known for his candid remarks, has long been critical of both Ripple and its community.
A year ago, Hoskinson made headlines by describing the XRP community as "toxic and petty," expressing his preference to distance himself from it. His comments also implied a reluctance to form any collaborative ties or technical integrations between Cardano and XRP. Despite Ripple's David Schwartz attempting to intervene, Hoskinson's stance remained unchanged.
Fast forward to the present, and Hoskinson's views show no sign of softening. He cites "two years of daily harassment by the community" and a fundamental disparity in the technical objectives of Cardano and XRP as reasons for his stance. Unlike Ripple, which is tailored for a specific purpose, Hoskinson notes that Cardano, along with other projects like Tezos, Algorand, Polkadot, and Ethereum, aims to solve a broader range of issues.
In addition to his criticisms, Hoskinson has also addressed conspiracy theories circulating within the XRP community. These theories often involve Ethereum, suggesting it received preferential treatment from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Hoskinson distinguishes between mere speculation and the possibility of Ethereum-related entities influencing the SEC's actions against XRP.
While Hoskinson's stance reflects his personal experiences and insights, it also highlights the often divisive and competitive nature of the blockchain industry.
